So I'm at a crossroads here. I have an "unofficial" quota I give myself for postings here, and I'm staring the deadline right in the face, and have yet to meet the quota. Worst part, I'm unsure what to write about...
I could write about the new novel I'm currently reading by Sally Rooney entitled: "Normal People". I'm two chapters in, and I utterly love it. I was originally going to get the book from the library, but I recently visited my favorite bookshop in the Loop, saw it on the shelf, and decided to treat myself.
I could also write about how there really isn't any music I want to buy. I almost bought the 1971- present LP boxset of the Rolling Stones. But after thinking it over, I decided against it. 1. Where would I store over 20 LPs? 2. I enjoy the Stones, and I have a couple of their albums, but I don't listen to them like I listen to The Beatles or Punch Brothers. So why buy something that expensive, if I'm not going to listen to it on a regular basis? So I didn't, and I'm very pleased with my decision.
In all honesty, I think I would rather just buy music from the Nonesuch label. I've fallen in love with folk and roots music, and Nonesuch consistently showcases the very best of that genre. In fact, if I get a new album at the station, and I see that its from Nonesuch, I'll immediately given it a listen to. That's how much I respect that label.
Well would you look at that, looks like I did have a few things to say. I only have four days left of my vacation, and I'm already looking at when I can take my next set of days off.
