My Favorite New Show of 2019

Two weekends ago I binged watched Netflix's new original series: Sex Education. Starring Gillian Anderson and Asa Butterfield, Sex Education is the story of young Otis becoming a "sexual therapist" for his classmates.

Sex Education is hands down one of the best new television series I have seen in a very long time. The strength of this show is how it connects with its viewers. There are moments that will bring you to tears, and others that will have you laughing on the floor. Every character is important and treated as such. It is a perfect showcase of humanity, and how every individual is unique, different, and worthy of respect. I absolutely love it!

The characters are great. The soundtrack is incredible, and I am really hoping that they formally release the soundtrack at some point because YouTube doesn't have everything, and it is driving me up a wall trying to find some of the music. Don't let the title scare you away, Sex Education is so much more than sex. It's an examination of love, humanity, and a cannot miss show. I've included the trailer below, hopefully it will encourage you to give the show a try. I promise you will not be disappointed.

My First Audio Essay

A couple of weeks ago I published my first ever audio essay. It focuses on an usually topic, paper. I like how unusually the topic is, because it allowed me to really bring a unique approach, and develop some interesting perspectives on the subject matter.

I was also caught by surprise by the reception I've received from it. It's been positive for the most part. This has really given me a confidence bust, and motivated me to begin writing a second one for publication. It's weird, over the past few years, I've really begun to enjoy writing. In fact, if you would of told me a few years ago that this would of been the case, I would of never believed you.

I see the audio essays as a very formal way of writing, with a lot of editing. Which is good and bad. The good is that it is forcing me to do way more edits that I am used to, however it is a very rewarding and enriching experience seeing the evolution of the piece through the edits. I can literally track its changes, which has been interesting.

Anyway, here's my first audio essay.

10 Year Anniversary of this Blog

June 2019 will mark the ten year anniversary of this blog. I am in complete and utter disbelieve over this. First, when I started writing this blog, I never would of thought that it would last as long as it has. So that's accomplishment in and of itself. The original reason why I created this blog was to help me shake off the writing rust as I was preparing to begin Grad School. Now here we are ten years later, and I am still rambling on about the most random things that are on my mind.

I think to celebrate this anniversary, I'll need to do something special. But what, that is the question...
